Mining Memorial Center Mursko Središće – Interpretation Setup & Multimedia Design

We developed the conceptual solution for the interpretation setup, multimedia design, and complete visual system for the CIMPER – Mining Memorial Center in Mursko Središće.

The project transforms the former mining site into a modern, emotional, and educational memorial space dedicated to the coal and oil miners who shaped the history and development of the town. Our task was to create a comprehensive interpretive concept that respectfully presents the lives, work, and heritage of the “white and black miners” while using contemporary exhibition techniques.

Our contribution included:

• Conceptual design of the entire interpretation setup
• Multimedia and interactive design solutions
• Complete visual identity and exhibition graphics
• Wayfinding and environmental design elements

The design balances industrial authenticity with emotional storytelling — combining archival materials, personal stories, historical objects, and modern multimedia installations. The visual language is dignified, powerful, and atmospheric, creating a strong connection between visitors and the mining past of Mursko Središće.

This project builds upon our earlier work for the same location, including the visual identity of the center and the monograph Beli i črni rudari, ensuring a consistent and cohesive narrative across all elements.
